Projectile Motion Calculator: from a Height (Cliff Face)

Example:

$$\text{Total time of flight} = \frac{(U \sin\theta)}{g} + \sqrt{\frac{2(h+H)}{g}} $$

$$ = \text{time to reach max height} + \text{time of fall from max height} $$

$$\text{Range} = V_x \cdot (\text{total time of flight}) $$

$$= V_{\text{cos}}\theta \cdot \left[\left(\frac{(U \sin\theta)}{g}\right) + \sqrt{\frac{2(h+H)}{g}}\right] $$

$$\text{Max height from cliff height} = h = \frac{(U \sin\theta)^2}{2g}, H = \text{height of cliff} $$

$$V_{\text{resultant}} = \sqrt{V_x^2 + V_y^2}, \text{ where } V_x = U \cos\theta, V_y = \sqrt{2g(h+H)} $$

$$V_{\text{resultant}} = \sqrt{(U \cos\theta)^2 + {2g(h+H)}} $$
